With reference to the H.K.P. General Order No.91 of 1947,
Part One, II REMINDER. I respectfully bag to point out that in
our reply to the Memorandum dated 29.1.47, para 5 states:
We are grateful for the extension to 15.2.47 whereby careful consideration can be nade, but, should a ratis- factory conclusion not be reached, further deferment would be appreciated.”
Resulting from this we received your minute dated 13.2.47-
sarinl No.483/13/2/47 in which at (b) you stated, " the option
cannot be extended beyond 15th July, 1947."
The replice contained in this tinute were fully discussed
resulting in my minute dated 21.2.47 wherein we requsated that
our memora ndun Jated the .1.1947 be forwarded to the Rt. Hon.
the Secretary of State for the Colonias.
By your minute dated 20.3.47--serial No.1115/21/3/47--wo
wors informed that our petitien had so been forwarded te the

By the fact that a mstlersatory conclusion war nat reached
locally by our reply of 29.1.1947 to the Honorandum thereby
making it necessary for us to refer the subject matter to the Rt.
Hon. the Becretary of State for the Colonie, from whom we hope
to receive couplate satisfaction. Te date no reply has been
received which re heve when received will by fully replied to and
sati-factory to all.
are gæsteful fǝr the extension granted us to 15.7.1947,
but as no reply has been received from the Rt. Hon. the Secretary
of State for the Colenies, we feel that the date for comɔlying
with the option should be left open until such times as this reply
is received in which it is possibie that, the Secretary of State
may make a directive on this point.
